Sponsor Guidelines

General Sponsor Information

  • Various sponsorship level options available
  • 6 hours of plenary sponsor demonstration time available
  • 3.5 hours of dedicated sponsor hall viewing
  • Sponsor exhibit space located in multiple spaces that flow into each other in the hotel
  • Slots available (first to register and pay) for non-plenary full-show screening
  • The sponsorship registration deadline is September 5, 2017. Each level has limited availability so early commitment is encouraged.
  • Please contact Sponsor Coordinator, Kevin Williams, to discuss slicing requirements for Fulldome shows (will depend on location)

Important Dates and Deadlines for Sponsors

Aug. 1 – Paper and poster abstract submissions due
Aug. 29 – Fulldome content due
Aug. 29 – All opto-mechanical needs due

Sept. 1 – Conference bag items are due (Mail to: Anna Green, James S. McDonnell Planetarium at the Saint Louis Science Center, 5050 Oakland Avenue, Saint Louis, MO 63110, USA)
Sept. 5 – Regular Registration ends
Sept. 6 – Late Registration begins (additional fee of $25)
Sept. 19 – Hotel releases unbooked rooms
Sept. 19 – Electronic text for papers & posters due to Proceedings Editor
Sept. 25 – Last day to register for meals
Sept. 26 – Late-Late Registration begins (additional fee of $50, NO meal selections offered)
Sept. 29 – Last day to register for the conference!!!
Oct. 6 – Cut-off date to receive a full refund (less any late fees and membership dues)

TBA – Sponsor set-up in Dome
October 10 – Sponsor Hall set-up (8am - 4:30pm)

 

Technical Specifications

McDonnell Planetarium Specs

  • 24-meter Astro-Tec dome, 0 degree tilt, 45% reflectivity, 66 dome frame ribs, 364 total panels on 6 courses plus center circle and just under 10,000 square feet of screen surface
  • ZEISS UNIVERSARIUM Model IX Opto-mechanical star projector located in center of room
  • ChromaCove High Power RGB cove lighting system
  • 10-ft spring line, no space behind dome
  • Overlook Balcony over console at back of dome with space for temporary projector mounting for sponsors wishing to temporarily install a Fulldome system or projector to showcase
  • 2 forward-facing, center-mounted Panasonic PT-RZ470K DLP media projectors
  • 6 Renkus Heinz CT566 speakers mounted behind the dome with 3 Crown CT810 and 3 Crown CT410 amps with unbalanced stereo summed to mono, two center placed EV SBA-760 subs available
  • 250 Avarte Funktus 544 planetarium seats typically set in unidirectional pattern, however they are removable or the configuration can be changed (more temporary seating can be added and mats are available to lie on the floor)

OMNIMAX® Theater Specs

  • 79-foot Spitz dome, 30° tilt, 30% reflectivity for cinema quality projection
  • IMAX GT film projector fitted with special lens
  • 6-channel sound system with 14,400-watt subs
  • Space available to temporarily install Fulldome system or projectors
  • 315 unidirectional permanent seats in stadium seating configuration
